Description
  • An abridged form of business process reengineering conducted over a 1 – 2 week period
  • Provides management with a high level roadmap to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their organization
  • Often a useful tool for new management to quickly gain insight into the strengths and weaknesses of their organization
  • Also used as a first step by management to document processes and procedures for Sarbanes-Oxley/FSA
Project Approach
  • Tailored interview questionnaire developed that covers:
  • Organization
  • Operational Objectives
  • Customers and Stakeholders
  • Processes
  • Learning/Skills
  • Interview Management Team and a representative sample of next level managers, supervisors and analysts: typically 20 – 25 people (one hour confidential interviews). Staff from applicable interface departments are also included.
Deliverables
  • Comprehensive Report provided within 2 weeks of on-site visit:
  • High Level Situation Analysis formulated that presents preliminary observations on:
  • effectiveness of the organizational structure;
  • efficiency of the critical workflow processes;
  • clarity/understanding of the mission and strategic objectives;
  • understanding of the internal/external customer relationships;
  • adequacy of overall skill set required to support the processes;
  • effectiveness of technology in supporting workflow processes and
  • adequacy of measures and metrics needed to monitor performance against financial, customer, process and human resource objectives

  • Report provided that documents high-level short and longer-term improvement opportunities
  • detailed improvement opportunities will result from the actual Business Process Review
